My painting and drawings include various scale, medium and subjects. Charcoal pencil and pastels are my handy tools for immediate study of surroundings where possible. Love poetic marks on Plein air study, intend to capture the essence of a moment in one sitting. Before starting my landscape painting in the studio, venture outside to connect directly with nature. I capture the basic line work on my canvas and take photos for reference. Once back in the studio, let the impressive paint marks work their magic. This direct experience and sense of perspective are essential to me, I love finishing my oil paintings with a final touch using a palette knife.
